Are there all-inclusive Costa Rica resorts available for an easy getaway? Not a hundred of them like in some spots on the globe, but a fair number to choose from along the Pacific coast.

The section of Luxury Latin America that provides detailed reviews of the best luxury Costa Rica hotels is one of the most popular on our site. Costa Rica gets a tiny fraction of the visitors of even just one top Mexican beach resort area, but it’s an easy place to get to from the USA and people tend to come back again after visiting.

Most of the hotels we’ve profiled are set up on an a la carte basis, but we have reviewed a few here and there where all meals are included, usually because they’re jungle lodges that are too remote to leave for dinner. There are some true Costa Rica all-inclusive resorts though. The fastest way to find the best one for you is to connect with an experienced company like Costa Rica Dream Adventures. They know the market inside and out and have volume deals set up with some of the best resorts where you pay one bill and you’re done. They can set you up with a great all-inclusive package.

Sure, you can try to figure it out yourself, but that’s a risky proposition if you don’t know Costa Rica very well. While there’s plenty of coastline, beaches are far from the main draw here. Some of the beaches are tiny, rocky, black, or they go away completely during high tide. The hotel photos often capture them at the ideal tide time, in the ideal light, neglecting to show what they’re like the rest of the time. Or they’ll put up a shot of a beach nearby without noting that you can only get to that gorgeous stretch of sand on a boat.

If you connect with a company that knows the market well, however, and has gotten lots of feedback from guests, they’ll be able to match you up with the right property for a honeymooning couple, a family, or a multi-generational trip. With an all-inclusive vacation, you can establish the budget up front and avoid a pile of nasty surprises later.

All Inclusive Resorts in Costa Rica

Croc's Casino Resort Costa Rica all-inclusive

In general, the Costa Rica all-inclusive beach resorts are not the most exclusive on the coast (like the Four Seasons, Andaz, or El Mangroove.) They have what you’d expect though: a large pool complex, free-flowing cocktails, activities, and good restaurants to choose from.

One example offered in Costa Rica Dream Adventures’ all-inclusive packages is at the Westin Playa Conchal. It has one of the best golf courses in Costa Rica, a kids club, and a package that includes a sailing and snorkeling trip. For adults who want to get to the beach quickly and do a little gambling while they are there, the 6-day package at Croc’s Casino Resort in Jaco is only around $2,200 for two, including transfers.

At some of the country’s all-inclusive resorts, you can fly into Liberia airport instead of San Jose, which is close to the Guanacaste region. You can book a package at Hotel Occidental Papagayo, for example, and avoid the middle of the country altogether. Or perhaps Samara Beachfront Resort. See airlines that fly into the country here.

Keep in mind that any of these all-inclusive packages could be combined with an adventure tour based at a jungle lodge, a few days near Arenal volcano with activities, or a few days of hiking and horseback riding at AltaGracia.
